Formula 1 championship leader Oscar Piastri is confident that McLaren has the speed to challenge for pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix, despite a challenging Friday. Piastri had a minor incident early in the second free practice session but managed to set the second-fastest time. Although Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was quickest in both Friday sessions, Piastri believes McLaren can bounce back and show strong performance for the rest of the weekend. Both Piastri and teammate Lando Norris acknowledge that there are areas for improvement and fine-tuning to maximize the car’s potential in Monaco. Norris emphasized the importance of getting all elements – braking, cornering, tire grip – right to achieve optimal performance on the demanding street circuit. As the McLaren team prepares for qualifying and the race, they remain focused on making incremental improvements to stay competitive in the tight battle for the top positions.
